Rev. Freddie Arnold, Church Planter/Association Missionary
My wife Elaine and I were appointed as Church Planting Missionaries to the Baptist Association of Greater New Orleans in 1999 by the North American Mission Board. Sharing responsibilities to BAGNO, Louisiana Baptist Convention and the North American Mission Board, it has truly been a joy and privilege to serve God in this position. My wife and I both grew up in Walker, LA, about ninety miles Northwest of New Orleans and had lived in New Orleans on two different occasions prior to coming to the city. We have a son, daughter, son-in-law and three grand children. I am a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. I served in the local church in the area of Christian education prior to coming into Association and State work.
My responsibilities encompass four areas: Planting New Churches, Developing New Churches, Coordinating and Training Disaster Relief Volunteers and Purchasing Property and Coordinating Construction for Mission Churches.
Church Planting: seeking out ministers that feel called of God and/or selected by their home church to start a new church helping them secure financial assistance through a joint partnership with BAGNO, LBC and NAMB. They develop a core group and we train them in how to plant a church.
Church Development: outreach, training, and development assistance until a church becomes strong enough to be self- sustaining.
Disaster Relief Coordination and Training: We enlist and train volunteers to operate mass feeding units that meet LBC and SBC Disaster Relief specifications and requirements.
Mission Construction Coordination: assisting mission churches in purchasing their first property and building their first building. This could be buying an existing building and renovating it, or helping to develop construction plans and organizing volunteer labor.
God has blessed the work of BAGNO and I am blessed to be part of His organization and kingdom building.
